Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Sansad Nepal ("we", "us", the "App") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Public parliamentary data. The App displays publicly available information about Members of Parliament, parties, committees, bills, notices, and proceedings, sourced from official public records. This is not your personal data.
- Account information (optional). If you create an account, we collect your name and email address to authenticate you. Authentication is handled by our provider, Clerk.
- Activity you create. Representatives you follow, issues you raise, and messages you send to representatives, so we can provide those features.
- Notification preferences. If you opt in to alerts, we store your contact (email) and/or device push token to deliver them.
- Basic technical data. Standard request logs (such as IP address and app version) needed to operate and secure the service.
2. How we use information
- To provide and improve the App's features.
- To send notifications and alerts you have requested.
- To respond to your support requests and messages.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Service providers
We share limited data with providers who process it only to operate the App on our behalf:
- Clerk — account authentication.
- Resend — sending email notifications.
- Neon — database hosting.
- Fly.io & Cloudflare — application hosting and delivery.
4. AI processing
Some features summarize or analyze public news and parliamentary content using automated models. This processing operates on public content and your queries to produce summaries; it is not used to profile you.
5. Data retention
We keep account and activity data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time (see below), after which we remove your personal data except where we must retain it to meet legal obligations.
6. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing support@sansadnepal.com. You can also stop notifications at any time from the App settings or the unsubscribe link in emails.
7. Children
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
